[blockquote]Tom Riddle, or Lord Voldemort as he likes to be called, is on the rise. Though slowly, he has steadily been gathering small numbers for his dark alliance called the Death Eaters. These Death Eaters wish to completely wipe out anyone that is not of pureblood descent. To do this, however, large numbers are needed to fight in combat against the many that oppose him.
Voldemort, being a man with a genius mind, came up with a plan to gather numbers. The target? Hogwarts students. He wants their minds to be fresh and free of any "corruption." The more unknowing of the ideas around them, the better. And even those that are filled with "corrupted" thoughts--he'll change their minds eventually. Or else.
His means? A notebook.
Just because school started, Voldemort sent some of his most skilled and faithful Death Eaters, all of which have a clear record in the magical world and are respected Ministry officials. Their mission was to cast a spell upon any and all the notebooks and parchment books the could find. The charm was made to connect the Dark Lord's thoughts with those of the students through a means of writing. Surely some poor, innocent girl would write down her thoughts on a piece of paper? Or maybe a boy would give his girlfriend a love note? When the students start writing, they'll find that someone is writing back: The Dark Lord himself. But they won't know it's him, not until he's turned them to the "dark" side, the side from which most parents and professors are trying to save the children. He plans to write to them and hold a conversation and engrave it into their minds that taking over the world and ridding it of all of those who are not pureblood will be the best.
His mind and ideas are so well planned, so skillful, that anyone could easily be swayed. The Muggleborns could be convinced that the world would be better off without them, thus causing them to kill themselves and other Muggleborns. The half-bloods realize that, though their blood was half-magical to begin with, the purebloods are still more superior. And for the purebloods, he will simply talk them into joining his side and helping him rid the world of all its impurities.
Inside the castle walls, more fights and duels are going on. Those who are resisting the Dark Lord or who have not come in contact with a notebook which has been charmed are fighting against those who have been swayed or are starting to believe him. It's no longer house rivalry, but rivalry among good and evil, darkness and light.
The professors are starting to worry. None of them are aware of what's going on or why all of this is happening. They find themselves cowering at the students, too scared to fight against them because of the powers they are getting from what appears to be nowhere. The only professor who is starting to see a pattern, however, is Headmaster Albus Dumbledore. And, in an attempt to stop the evil from spreading, he has created a secret order: the Order of the Phoenix, inside of which some of the most skilled and trained individuals reside.
Many students--Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, James Potter among them--have realized the pattern, too, and have decided to fight on his side, against the Dark Lord and all of those he seems to be recruiting--Peter Pettigrew amongst a list of students he has swayed.
Whose side will you choose?
It's a battle between good and evil, dark and light… and you must choose between black and white.[/blockquote]
